How To Grow Your Blog - 10 Reasons Why Your Blog Isn’t Growing As Planned

Before I go into the main tip of the day, I want to throw some questions to you and they go thus; are you making profit from your blog? Is it growing as planned? Are you applying the necessary things that are meant for its growth?

If your answer to some, are positive and the others negative, then, there are some things you are not applying and I will relay to you some mistakes that you have made or will be made in the nearest future.

Everyone wants to be a great blogger in one way or the other and I am very sure you are trying your possible best to get to that height; but there are things that you don’t do, and that is drawing you back.

1. Posting inconsistently: it is true that it isn’t compulsory for you to post on daily basis but you need to have a posting schedule so your viewers will be able to keep up with your doings and also pay attention to everything that goes on. Once that schedule is created, you must try your very best to stick to it and make it work.

2. Not promoting your blog right: there is one thing to write blog content and another to write killer blog content. Once you have perceived that you have written perfect blog content, the first thing you need to do is to tweet it via Twitter, then stumble it via StumbleUpon and you can then link it to Facebook. Once this is done, you must be sure to follow up and use that opportunity to send the information out.

3. Not knowing yourself: what I mean by you knowing yourself is before you can be identified, you must be sure you are doing the right things like commenting on other blogs, ensuring your name appears in front. You can also email your trusted subscribers and just check if there is anything you can do for them. Now, before I proceed to the next tip, there is one thing that most bloggers are fond of doing and it is the demanding of “favor” from their customers. This is very bad and if you are fond of it, I advice you stop it because it will lead to the downfall of your business.

4. Not networking right: networking is one way to make yourself known among other bloggers and your subscribers too. It also helps in the adding of value to your brand or blog. To make this easy for you, you must be on some social websites, especially the popular ones and check out their message boards.

5. Not being confident: one thing about success and growth, especially when it comes to blogging is that the blogger must be self-confident and it must be seen in the content of that article and if it isn’t there, it will be noticed and abandoned. You can’t become a good writer till you believe you are one. Take for example, you are writing an article of 1000 words without confidence and another writes one of 800 words with confidence. Which one do you think will get more traffic?

6. Not seeing yourself as better writer: to become a better writer, you have to start from somewhere. Take for example, some great writers from Copyblogger, Problogger, and Zen Habits, they all started from somewhere and they are still succeeding. So, start from somewhere and try these out. The best will be seen in you.

7. Not having a voice of your own: now dear, let me tell you something you don’t know. Trying to write like other successful writers will not make you a success. You need to be yourself and this will get you noticed. Take for example, Brain from Copyblogger who writes in his own unique way. He has being noticed by so many people and is still being noticed.

8. Generalizing your blog: your blog must not be based on everything. You must be specific and be wise.

9. Lack of patience: I wonder why most people prefer to do things fast and without caution. They do not know that being patient is very important because it will help your blog grow strong and be an A-list blog.

10. Not planning in advance: it is very good to be cautious because when something goes wrong and you are unable to fix it, you and your blog will just vanish into thin air. In order not to let that happen, you must create a schedule post and save them for future purposes.

Wow! I guess this is where I sign out and if they are adhered to, you will be the best you have ever wanted to be and your blog will definitely grow more than you can ever imagine.
